Keepin' It Cool at the LA County Fair

Pomona, CA (Aug. 9, 2019) – The LA County Fair is taking extra steps to make sure everyone has a safe and cool fair this year. With temperatures set to be summer temps, the LA County Fair is going to be Throwing Shade all month long!

“We understand that our guests are here to have an amazing time, and we want them to be comfortable,” Vice President of Marketing Lucas Rivera said. “With all the added shade to new and existing structures, we hope that fairgoers can take away the stress of finding ways to keep cool, and concentrate on having a great time with their friends and family.”

The biggest of the projects to make the fairgrounds cooler is the extension of the Farm Road. The extended road will now be directly connected from The Farm to the Historic Trains near Yellow Gate complete with shade sails. Approximately 34,094-square-feet of shade sails were added to the existing 20,373-square-feet.

All entertainment stages across the fairgrounds will be complete with shade. Stages include the three stand-alone stages, one stage in Plaza de las Americas and one stage inside Expo Hall 4 for the duration of the fair.

Additionally, The Farm, our most popular area, will now be equipped with 12 new seating areas with seats and umbrellas. Two more cooling stations have been added around the fairgrounds for a total of five.
