2020 LA County Fair Will Light the Night, Admission Prices Remain Steady for Fourth Straight Year

Opening Weekend Discounts for All, Pioneering Value Menu to Continue

The LA County Fair will literally trip the lights fantastic this September when it sets the skyline aglow with a luminescent experience to brighten the darkest of nights. We Light the Night: Experience the Glow transforms the 2020 Fair from retro futurism during the day to an illuminated experience of the future at night, complete with high-voltage programming featuring lighted art installations and expanded entertainment with a touch of agriculture and Americana thrown in.

The electrifying fun comes at the same price of admission for the fourth consecutive Fair. In addition, opening weekend admission Sept. 4 to 7 (Labor Day) will offer a value to all Fairguests with $10 tickets (when purchased online) – a 50-percent discount on regular weekend adult prices.

“The LA County Fair is an end-of-summer tradition. With our 2020 theme, we are creating a whole new experience of curated programming for evening enjoyment that is sure to engage the senses,” said Miguel A. Santana, President and CEO of Fairplex. “And with the special admission for Opening Weekend that is accessible to all – it’s a great value for everyone.”

The 2020 Fair dates are Sept. 4 to 27. Pomona Day will be on opening day (Sept. 4) as is the tradition. Pomona residents can purchase $1 admission tickets online. La Verne Day will be Sept. 11. La Verne residents also can purchase $1 admission tickets for that day online. Senior Day will move to Fridays, with seniors ages 60+ receiving free admission from noon to 4 p.m.

The popular Fair Value Menu, begun two years ago and since emulated by other fairs and festivals, will continue, offering Fair treats and meals at a reduced price of $6.50. The Value Menu has become increasingly popular among Fairguests.

Last year, the Fair experienced the hottest Fair on record. The experience of an evening Fair accommodates the comfort of Fairguests. Therefore, the Fair will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays, 4 to 11 p.m. Thursdays, noon to midnight Fridays, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays. The later opening hours on Wednesday and Thursday offer a Fair experience during the cooler hours of the day.

The Fair will offer the same robust program of entertainment, activities, contests, food and shopping, ensuring a potent experience for Fairguests within a more convenient time frame. Stay tuned as the Fair announces its attractions, including a musical extravaganza with 20 stages throughout the fairgrounds featuring major musical guests to emerging artists, DJs spinning tunes to folk music musicians; light-inspired art installations that spotlight the We Light the Night theme; and the flashiest Fair food that is sure to please the palate.

In 2019, the Fair received its highest guest ratings ever. Since themes were adopted in 2018, the guest experience satisfaction has continued to increase.
