Come join us in celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Los Angeles County Fair as we welcome more than 1 million guests through our doors for a month of Pure Fun!
Q: What do we look for in a candidate?
A: We look for individuals that have a passion for our event and our guests. Many positions require direct interaction with our guests so customer service skills are extremely important.
Q: What’s the application process?
A: Typically, applicants must apply through our website for positions they are interested in. Hiring Managers will then contact eligible applicants for an interview. If an individual is offered a position, they must complete and pass a drug test and background check. Depending on the position, a skill test may also be required.
Q: Can I work for multiple departments?
A: No. If you are interviewed and offered multiple positions, you must choose one. Individuals are not permitted to work in multiple departments.
Q: What types of positions are available?
A: We have all types of positions available. The largest departments include:
Environmental Services
Parking (Sellers and Lot Attendants)
Admissions (Sellers and Gatemen)
Carnival (Sellers and Wristband Applicators)
Exhibits
Q: Can I apply for any position?
A: Some positions may only be applicable to full-time union members. Check the details of the position before you apply.
Q: Can I drop off a paper application?
A: No. We do not accept paper applications. All applicants must apply online unless otherwise stated. If you do not have computer access at home, you can visit your local library.
Q: What are the hours?
A: Hours depend on the position and department. Applicants are expected to be available for shifts during the week, at night, and on the weekends. The Fair opens Saturday, September 3 and runs through Sunday, October 2. We are closed Monday’s and Tuesday’s except Labor Day. Individuals are expected to be available for work the entire length of the Fair.
Q: How many hours will I work each week?
A: Most positions are part-time and seasonal. We cannot guarantee applicants a minimum number of hours.
Q: Do you hire for the food stands or vendor booths?
A: With the exception of concession stands operated by Cornucopia Foods, we do not hire for food or commercial vendors. Occasionally, some vendors will ask the Employment Development Division (EDD) for help in finding applicants. The EDD typically sets up a trailer on White Avenue our grounds prior to the start of Fair. Check back later for more information.
