The Los Angeles International Wine & Spririts Marketplace presented by Ralphs (yup...it's a mouthful) is the place to be when it comes to fantastic ambiance and award winning wines, olive oil, beer, and spirits. Oh, and let's not forget the food! Only here can you enjoy food from the Marketplace Café, and for dessert...well there is none other than Dr. Bob's Handcrafted Ice Creams, made right on the Fairplex grounds at Fairview Farms.
Relaxing has never been so much fun! For those of you , like me, who find a little shopping to be an essential I would encourage you to visit the Crushed Grape and splurge on the wine inspired home décor.
The Marketplace has something for everyone...even good old fashioned learning. Yes, you heard me right, The Marketplace is also a classroom...the best classroom ever dreamed up! Here Fairguests have a unique opportunity to become wine connoisseurs with serveral wine education programs that are offered each day of the Fair. This fantastic and unique program offers over 50 seminars including award winning wine tasting, extra virgin olive oil, beer tasting, spirits, and cooking demonstrations taught by well-known local chefs.
If depth seminars just aren't your style, don't worry! With the wine tasting bar, wine by the glass, extra virgin oil tasting, and beer & spirits tasting, you can create your own "learn as you go" program! Taste, ask our amazing staff questions, and enjoy!
Remember - no matter which path you choose, EVERYTHING you taste in The Marketplace has been pre-approved by renowned Judges from all over the world, and are none other than award winners!!!
Competition
Welcome to the 2009 Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition! For 70 years, our competition has showcased the finest vintages from countries throughout the world and has illustrated time and again why this wine competition is considered one of the most prestigious.
OK, so you knew that we had a wine competition, but did you know that we also have a Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition? While this competition is only in its 8th year, it continues to gain momentum amongst breweries from all over the world! With fantastic BJCP certified judges, this competition yields some of the best beers worldwide. Just stop by our new beer and spirits bar and taste the award winners...Cheers!
With wine, spirits, and beer, what other competitions could the L.A. County Fair actually hold? Well, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, of course! Just like our other competitions, the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition is held to the highest of standards. Our experienced judges spend days blind tasting to make sure that the award winners you taste in The Marketplace are nothing less than the very best.
Seminars
Taste over 300 Gold Medal Winning Wines expertly selected from 3,500 wine entries and view more the 2,000 international wine, spirits, beer, and extra virgin olive oil winners! Join in on our Wine Education Prgram and learn about wine, spirits, and olive oil. Each wine class features a minimum of six wines and each participant will receive a tasting ticket for a taste of a Gold Medal Winner at the INternational Tasting Bar. The cost to participate is $17.00 per wine class.
NEW! Beer & Spririts Bar
New this year to The Marketplace is a one of a kind beer & spirits bar. This unique bar will proudly serve only our award winning beers and spirits, both inside and outside of The Marketplace.
Now the only decision is whether to enjoy your award winning beer and/or award winning spirits tasting in the air conditioned portion of The Marketplace, or soak up the sun outside in our comfortable patio furniture and custom umbrellas...the choice is yours!
